Porcelain patina in the studio..

As many of you know I have a love for 'aged things'..   I find it hard to pass up a delightfully 'weathered ' item that shows it's years...  here are a few pics of some old preloved friends that  inhabit my studio..

All with their own stories to tell..

carefully selected for their perfect 'imperfections'..

I am delighted by the wear that proves they were well loved when in their prime..

I get so inspired by these fabulous textures and patina..

Still wearing their fine gauzy linen dresses now tea stained with time.

Do you too find delight in collecting 'imperfection' ?

  5. I'm sort of dancing between beautiful - love the story-to-them element - and... a little creepy, as far as the loose heads go ;) But I love that you love them :)

  7. Aww, if you love aged things, then you'll love me. :)

Wow, the crackle is really cool. These look really antique! Wonder how old they are and how many little girls loved them. I think I'd be a little unnerved with them all staring at me, though. Great photos!

  8. Perfectly imperfect is what they are! I'm not a doll person and will have to say they kind of scare me. But your photos really captured the beauty you see. I like the painted details on their faces.

  11. Yes! But honestly, I will be scared to look at their eyes. I like old books. They don't have eyes, just windows and doors. :) Have a great week!

  14. Oh yes - I love imperfection! decaying, withering, worn, shabby, frayed, pre-loved and used things are my favourites. Clothes, furniture, books, kitchen utensils, toys, games ... oh, a lot of things. Don't know why, but that's how it is :) - and I live in an old shabby house too, heh ...
